What is NDIS and My Aged Care Physiotherapy?

NDIS physiotherapy refers to physiotherapy services funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia. The NDIS provides support and funding to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Similarly, My Aged Care is a government supported service for those over 65 years of age. Physiotherapy is one of the many services covered under the NDIS and My Aged Care, aimed at enhancing mobility, functional independence, and overall well-being.

How Does NDIS and My Aged Care and Physiotherapy Work?

Once deemed eligible, NDIS participants will typically have had a plan constructed for them which looks to support their nominated goals. Similarly, for My Aged Care, an individual will be assessed and given a level from 1-4 which indicates the level of care they require. If this plan includes physiotherapy, then the physio will come up with a treatment plan specific to the patient’s physiotherapy needs. This plan is regularly reviewed and adjusted to ensure it continues to meet the participant’s evolving needs and goals.
